Snowballs and Spider Webs

Winter is coming.

I used to like Winter as a kid.

Snow falling…forts…trekking out after getting our snowmobile suit on (I never snowmobiled but I had a suit), snowballs, making snowmen, snow angels, just thinking about it makes me giddy.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern the will of God, that is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2

I am sitting on my patio thinking about Winter but seeing lovely webs. The spider transformed their silk into something beautiful. Isn’t that what He does to us? He transforms us into something more beautiful. (We are already beautiful in His sight).

Do not be conformed to this world. Hmmm…two things hit me. “This world” and, “conformed”. This world can mean earth, where we are at, society, the realm we know. Weirdly, cell phones is the first thing I think of when I think of conforming. (That, and using my credit card ). Molding or to be modeled after comes to mind. He is the potter, we are the clay.

I will admit I am the first one to use my phone. But, I am also the one who can let it sit like it’s 1999. I believe society pulls us in to that realm. Society helps make up the world, a world dictated by our enemy.

I believe the more time we spend with Him, the more our mind is transformed and that means less time to be conformed by the world. The more society looks wonky. Just like my first few days where MS played with my body.
