Birthday

It was my birthday yesterday.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Yes, that is a common verse. It does mean more to me since I have really looked at it. He already knew what I was (and am) going to do before it is a twinkle in my eye. He knew I would reach this birthday with hope. He already planned to give me a purpose and a look at my future. (Plus, He knew I would eat some tuxedo cake).

That continues to blow my mind. If He does that for me, doesn’t He do it for others? I would love to think so. He loves me and He love you, His creation.

Even though He created me, He created me for many things. A purpose. My body is less than now, but I still have work to do. All of that was taken into account. My MS, allergies, menopause, medications, and pain. It may take me longer, I still get many jobs done. Sometimes, I can’t do it on my own. That’s when I ask for help.

God has plans for Jesus too. I am thinking of His crucifixion. What a brutal way to go. However, in His love for us (past, present, and future), He endured all that He did.

Two rebels were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. – Matthew 27:18 NIV

He did it even for them.

Those are the plans. We go through crappy stuff. (Ain’t that the truth). However, He still loves us and has a plan.

I am so grateful for that. Plans don’t always work for me. His do!

I am reading When Women Walk Alone (by Cindi McMenamin), Living a Heathy Life with Chronic Pain (many authors), Why Doesn’t God Fix It? (by Kimberly Rae). and a bunch of devotionals by Xochitl Dixon. All of who I highly recommend. I am seeing His plan. Mostly after the fact.

We are His creation. I believe that gives Him the right to our life. He can do what He wishes. I just need to remember He plan on making me prosper me and He will not harm me. (Others may, but He won’t).
