I got to spoil our son when he was home.

I wonder if that is how Mary felt when Jesus come home.

Now I am not saying J-man is Jesus. I am just comparing them to get a better understanding of them.

Today is the day before Christmas Eve. So it is Christmas Eve’s eve. I heard about that from Miranda (A British show that is hysterical).

I need my Bible but it’s cold out there in the garage. My Bible is in my car and I am wearing shorts even though isis freezing.

O. K. I braved it. Man my feet are cold (yeah, I am barefoot). They will warm up.

This weather that we are experiencing has been nuts. Even for us Midwesterners. I know, for me, it has triggered some crappy times. For me, the fluctuation in temp or barometric pressures triggers pain. Usually I feel it before it gets here but there are times where I am like, ohhhh now it makes sense!

I am like this quite a bit when I am learning at church. In my head I am like, ohhhh…now it makes more sense. (Who am I kidding, it’s not always in my head).

Here I am 53 and I am still learning. 53 and still clamping my hand on my out after I am noisy and say something out loud.

I wonder if people in that time did the same thing. (Feel the weather before it came). A lot of them in His hometown didn’t understand the plan anyway and quite a few spat it him. That came later. (Who would spit at a baby?)

I looked up the temperature and it is about 55 degrees. As I sip my warm tea, I think, it’s warmer than here but I bet the nights are cold.

We picture Mary, Joseph & Jesus as being in this picturesque scene by stuff we see in Christmas cards & by singing “Away In A Manger”, however I bet it wasn’t quite as pretty.

And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them. Luke 2:6-7 NLT

A thing I took away from one of the messages that was given on a Sunday morning was that we (I included) need to consider the time. Meaning, culturally what was it like back then? That itself puts things in perspective for me. This is how I learn. That is when I go, “Ohhhhh!”
